The Use of Technology:

Technology is getting used more and more every year (maybe even month(SHOCKED)), but with it what's happening elsewhere? So we know, people use tech everyday for work and play, and what a great privilege it is to have access to it! But we are hurting ourselves through this. The more you use of this, the more harm you might be doing! Oh, if you're too lazy to read all this, you can watch that video right over there! So now let's get a grasp of those numbers! Let's talk about adults first. So adults must use a lot of technology, or electronics since a lot of jobs need it. Research says that an average adult is awake for 15 hours and 45 minutes. The average adult spends roughly 45% of that time on electronics! Kids... kids are getting worse at not using their free-time on screens. Just look at this graph of an average (american child's) free-time usage in one week (right)! See there, and average american child's 18.6 hours of free-time is spent on technology/electronics. 18.6 hours out of 61.4 hours of free-time in total might not seem like a lot any more, but really it still is.

Multitasking it hard, right? Well for people between ages 16 and 24, not quite so when it comes to electronics. People in between those ages can use 5 hours worth of electronics in just 2 hours! Incredible, but not really. So what can those people be doing on their computers? Working and playing, obviously. 70% of the world has access to computers, but only 1/3 ever actually use it to work. To me, having a good life needs a balance of work and play, but these glorious tech machines are harder to use if you want to focus all the way. Distractions are everywhere! But I guess you get used to it after awhile.

There really isn't much of a conclusion to this, but I guess we know how much technology is being used now a days. Let's be a little bit more aware of our use, OK?
